Founded during the gold rush era to supply water for mining operations, the company has since evolved into a cornerstone of development, providing world-class potable water to communities, industries, and municipalities alike.
At a special event commemorating the occasion, CEO Mr. Dikoko paid tribute to the company’s legacy and its dedicated workforce. He shared his pride in the team’s efforts to maintain exceptional standards in water provision. “I am proud of you and know you will continue doing great work as part of building this 70-year bulk, potable water supplier that has become a reliable development partner and a preeminent Water Services Provider,” he said.
From Mines to Mega Cities
Midvaal Water has traveled a remarkable path from its origins as a supplier exclusively serving the mining sector. Today, the company is driving an ambitious expansion programme that aims to broaden its reach and impact. Key among these initiatives is repositioning the Scientific Services division into a standalone business unit, enabling it to cater to a growing clientele across both public and private sectors.
In a significant step forward, Midvaal Water has entered into a partnership with the North West Housing Corporation (NWHC). This collaboration will see the company supplying bulk potable water and related services to ten planned Mega and Smart Cities across the province.
Sharing Expertise, Growing Opportunities
Midvaal Water’s reputation for excellence extends beyond South Africa’s borders. Earlier this month, a delegation from Zimbabwe, comprising government officials and representatives from water utilities, visited the company to learn from its best practices in water purification, maintenance, and operations.
Reflecting on this visit, Mr. Dikoko remarked, “The delegation was overwhelmed by our operations and new opportunities that are on the horizon.”
